Hi my names Novia Ocean, i am a current third year studying at Nottingham Trent University. To answer the question above may take me a while, so ill try and keep this as minimal as i possibly can!
Fashion Map is one of two optional modules i am currently undertaking as part of my third year work, when hearing about what Fashion Map is and what the outcomes could be, i was very intrigued. It is a close study into the youths trends in Nottingham, it is captured through photography and recorded through a dicta phone, to truly building up an archive of what Nottingham youths are wear and the trends they choose to follow. Subsequently after recruiting onto this module there has to be an aim behind it, thus finding a passion of my own to conquer.
This was not obvious to me until i looked back through previous work, when i came across a presentation id done the previous year about "Why people choose what they Wear," then i had it!
I had my passion...after a long hard think and trooling through past essays and scripts i found my topic- 'What is the Decision Process in the Morning?' does this differ when it comes to gender, age or location? This was the question i wanted to answer and research for my final years project- and i was very happy with it! Keeping with this topic in mind, i tried to focus this study to something or somewhere in particular. Thus taking me to my Art and Design building- Bonington! Does the decision process differ even more when it comes to art and design students, to that of a "normal" student?
So this is my question i have posed to myself, i will build a comprehensive log of my accounts with interviewing and images, articles and focus groups, observation and desktop research- hopefully ending with me walking out of Bonington clutching a 1st in one hand and the answer in the other......i will try my very best to keep u posted!
